Air Pleat Series 50 Synthetic Media Extended Surface Filters

The filter media for the AIR PLEAT series has an extended surface due to pleating and is of the non-woven type with regular labrynthine structure being buiilt of synthetic fibres which are bonded together by a special resin. The media is sandwiched between two layers of HDPE mesh which act as aretainer and screens out large particles and prevents them from being embedded in the media. The media is pleated and held rigidly in place by a metel grid. Air pleat synthetic media is pleasent in handling and does not cause irrition and itching of the skin like fiberglass.

The series 50 is recommended for comfort and non-critical industrial applications and can as easily be installed in standard air handling units, or mounted in banks.

Air Tech HEPA-Absolute Filter

AIRTECH HEPA filters are standardised on anodised aluminium framing. The imported submicronic glass fibre media which is water resistent and has a high tensile strength consists of one continous sheet folded arounded machine pleated aluminium separators. A fluid fire retardent adhesive when dry hardened, providing a positive seal between filter pack and rigid frame. A closed cell neoprene gasket provides positive sealing.

Each filter is individually tested by the DOP penetration method for efficiency as well as for air flow and pressure drop.

All HEPA filters assure a filter that is 99.97% efficient on particles of 0.3 microns in size or larger

High Performance Bag Filters

AIRTECH HI-FLOW filters are high efficiency extended surface filters. This gives a low airflow through the filter media, which ensures low pressure drop and high dust holding capacity. All HI-FLOW filters are suitable for air-conditioning plants and with self supporting filter bags. HI-FLOW are especially suitable for installation in airhandling units.

A complete HI-FLOW filter consists of a holding frame made from galvanised sheet metal or anodised aluminium. Non-woven synthetic fibers and fiber glass are used in the bags. Scrim backing is provided to prevent fiber migration.

Activated Carbon Air Filters

Activated carbon is most commonly used to remove odorous gases and irritating vapors from the air by adsorption. Carbon does not mask one odor with another. In a Activated carbon filter this happens as the gas-laden air passes through the carbon in the filter.

Extremely thin layers of gas molecules adhere to the surfaces of the carbon granules with which they come in contact. A tremendous surface area is contained within a small quantity of activated carbon. One pound of extremely porous carbon contains more than 5,000,000 square feet of surface. It may adsorb a half pound or more of odorous gases.

The ability of the carbon bed to keep odors below threshold level remains relatively constant throughout its life, dropping off rather slowly until near capacity. When capacity is reached, carbon continues to allow passage of air, but no longer adsorbs gases.

When odorous gases are removed from the air in a comfort air conditioning system a high percentage of the air can be recirculated. This permits a substantial decrease in heating and cooling costs, as well as in the size of equipment required.

Activated carbon filters are applicable to most conditions where odors, fumes, smoke or gases affect personal comfort or product integrity. This applies to such installations as convention halls, museums, libraries, entertainment centers, sports arenas, gymnasiums, locker rooms and other areas where concentrated "people odors" can become objectionable.
